More Prem Predictions (Cont.)

Continuing on from yesterdays post, here are the rest of this weekends premiership predictions:

Bolton vs West Ham: West Ham are still the premierships in-form team, however Alan Pardew has just won the Manager of the Month award, so the so-called “curse” might affect them now. This is the first meeting of these teams this week, with their FA Cup replay scheduled for Wednesday night, so it will be interesting to see which match has priority for the managers. I think Bolton will be more interested in league position, and this will probably tell in the final score. My Prediction: 2-1 Bolton.

Everton vs Fulham: A win for Everton and they reach the mythical 40 point mark, whilst Fulham should still be worried about what is happening below them, especially if Birmingham beat WBA. Everton are riding high in the form table currently, whilst Fulham are very near the bottom, and Fulham have only picked up 3 points away from home all season, with no wins, three draws and eleven defeats, this is pretty much a home banker for Everton. My Prediction: 2-0 Everton.

Portsmouth vs Man City: Harry Redknapp’s arrival at Fratton Park has done little to improve the performances of Pompey, who look destined for the drop now. Man City have had a very topsy turvy season this year, and they have very poor away form, however I don’t see Portsmouth being any trouble today. My Prediction: 3-1 Man City.

Sunderland vs Wigan: Wigan have been struggling lately, and Pascal Chimbonda’s own goal on monday night will have done little to improve things. With Mick McCarthy leaving Sunderland in the week, the Sunderland players will have some added impotus to perform better, and this is just the match for them to show an improvement. My Prediction: 2-1 Sunderland.

Blackburn vs Aston Villa: After losing out to what most Blackburn fans would term a 12-man Spurs side on Sunday, Blackburn will be hoping to put their European ambitions back on track with a home win against Villa. Villa however have better away form than home form, and with the what could have been a relegation fight for them, they’ve recently put together a decent run of form. My Prediction: 1-1 Draw.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: This is the big game this weekend, and after reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League, Arsenal will be hoping to try and improve their league standing and catch up on North London rivals Spurs. Having only met last month at Anfield, with Liverpool scraping a win, Arsenal have a good chance of winning this, especially with Liverpools goal-scoring problems. My Prediction: 2-0 Arsenal.

Charlton vs Middlesbrough: Middlesbrough, having beaten on-form Roma in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, will be hoping to leapfrog Charlton here, and they have a good chance, with Charlton struggling and boro improving constantly. My Prediction: 2-1 Boro.

Man Utd vs Newcastle: Both of these teams have been playing well lately, and with Newcastle only 4 points off the UEFA Cup spots, Freddy Shepherd’s hopes for 6th place could still happen. Ruud van Nistelrooy could return to Man Utd’s starting XI, which could prove important. My Prediction: 3-1 Man Utd.

Liverpool “scraped” the win at Anfield having dominated the whole game. Arsenal were woeful, Henry a disgrace to his shirt. How things can change when you’re at home and things are in your favour.
